Another trick for removing stuck bearings from sideplates

Accurate Boss LD with the obligatory pinion support bearing stuck in the sideplate. Tried all the usual tools, tricks (including harsh words and expletives) but no movement. It didn’t have much rotation due corrosion etc so I thought it was time to go full retard on it. Out came the drill, selected the next size up from the inner race dimension and had at it. After a few rotations of the inner race at increasing speed the outer just wound out of the sideplate with unexpected ease. It’s more a case of inability to grip the bearing than the bearing’s grip in the sideplate, and drills bite nicely into stainless. Worth a try if nothing else works, I might even try it before I escalate to harsh words next time!
